Dear ICIA Families,
Welcome back! I am so excited to welcome everyone to a new school year and to introduce myself as ICIA's Assistant Principal. It is truly an honor to continue serving a school and community that I care so deeply about.
Some of you may already know me from my time as ICIA's Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), where I had the opportunity to work alongside our incredible teachers and get to know so many of our students and families. Before joining ICIA, I spent 13 years teaching Mandarin in dual language immersion schools. Those years shaped who I am as an educator and reinforced my belief in the power of dual immersion. I have seen firsthand how students grow not only in two languages, but also in confidence, resilience, and cultural understanding.
As Assistant Principal, my goal is to support our students, teachers, and families while continuing to build on the strong foundation that makes ICIA such a special place. I truly believe in our mission and am excited about the incredible potential of our school and community.
This year, our theme, "Dragon Voyagers: Navigating Language, Culture, and Leadership," reminds us that learning another language is a journey of growth, curiosity, and discovery. Together, as One Community, Many Cultures, Endless Possibilities, we will continue to inspire our students to become compassionate, confident, and globally minded leaders. Thank you for your trust and partnership.
I look forward to getting to know even more of you throughout the year. Building relationships with our families is one of the most rewarding parts of my role, and I can't wait to connect with you. Here's to a wonderful school year filled with learning, growth, kindness, and community. I look forward to seeing you all very soon!
Warmly,
Candy Lin-Huang
